Design for Comprehensive Improvement for the Voghji River Bed and Riverbank Structures
Under the project, design was developed for the rehabilitation of an approximately 886 m section of the Voghji River and the improvement of adjacent infrastructure. The works included river channel clearance; excavation and filling works to achieve the design bed levels; construction of new riverbank protection retaining walls and rehabilitation of existing retaining walls; and construction of 14 spillways and fish passages. The designs also included the rehabilitation of pedestrian bridges and railings, installation of a lighting system, construction of access ramps for maintenance equipment, and relocation of existing engineering networks.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report was prepared, underwent environmental expertise, and received a positive conclusion.
